An external trainer giving classes to staff in Brussels has tested positive for COVID-19, according to an internal communications e-mail circulating in the European Parliament and seen by New Europe.
The trainer from the external company was giving language courses to the European Parliament and maximum 6 persons have been affected. As soon as the incident became known to medical services, all contacts were informed and were requested to stay in self-isolation at home, for the 14-days period foreseen by the health protocol.
Earlier on Tuesday, David Sassoli, European Parliament’s President announced his decision to put himself into quarantine as a precautionary measure, following his visit to Italy last weekend and the government’s emergency measure to place the entire country on lockdown.
