Russian police have detained members of the anti-Kremlin group Pussy Riot, while they attempted to shoot a music video.
Nadya Tolokonnikova and 12 other members were arrested during a photoshoot a day after police allegedly raided the femminist group’s music video shoot.  Tolokonnikova tweeted that police accused the group of “extremism” and “gay propaganda”.
The group says the new video features “150 activists, mostly female or queer”, and that the police ordered the studio to shut off the power, and then barred Pussy Riot from bringing a generator to finish the shoot.
Pyotr Verzilov, a band member, later posted a video of Tolokonnikova at the police station showing her saying the reason for the group’s detention was because of an alleged carbon-monoxide leak at the studio.
“When police arrived, there was no carbon monoxide leak, but they found us instead and decided to take us”, Tolokonnikova said.
Tolokonnikova and two other members of Pussy Riot were jailed for a controversial performance in a Moscow church in 2012. The same year, they also stormed the football pitch during the FIFA World Cup final to demand freedom of expression.
