Prince Albert II of Monaco has tested positive for COVID-19, according to an announcement issued by the Prince’s Palace on Thursday.
According to the statement, the Head of State continues to work from his private apartments, while he is “in constant communication with the member of the cabinet, the government and his collaborators.”
The 62-year-old Sovereign Prince is closely followed by his doctor and specialists from the Princess Grace Hospital Center (CHPG).
There are “no concerns” for his health, the statement reads.
Prince Albert also urged citizens of Monaco to respect the confinement measures taken and to limit social interaction to a minimum.
The announcement came three days after Serge Telle, Monaco’s Prime Minister, announced he had also tested positive for the virus.
