Slovakia’s President Zuzana Čaputová accepted credentials from the first Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Bratislava Roman Vassilenko, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
Čaputová, noting the positive significance of the opening of the Kazakh Embassy in Bratislava, expressed hope that the dynamics of cooperation between the two countries in recent years will continue to intensify.
For the first time the embassy of Kazakhstan was opened only last year with a residence in Bratislava, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
“During the ceremony, it was noted that countries have great potential for the development of mutually beneficial cooperation. Great prospects open up with the entry into full force of the Agreement on Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Union and its member states from March 1 of this year,” the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said.
Currently, more than 40 companies with Slovak participation are already operating in Kazakhstan, and the most serious prospects for cooperation are opening up in the fields of engineering, defense industry, energy, IT, pharmaceuticals, agricultural processing and others, the statement read.
“A separate focus during the conversation was placed on the efforts of the two countries to combat climate change and the development of alternative energy. Bratislava committed to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, therefore, the head of the Slovak state took with interest the information on the ongoing work in Kazakhstan to develop solar, wind and other types of alternative energy to achieve the goal of providing 50 percent of the country’s energy needs through renewable energy by 2050,” the Kazakh ministry said in a statement.
