Senior Hezbollah officials have been placed under quarantine after being infected with Coronavirus, Israel’s Channel 13 reported on Wednesday, citing Al Arabiya.
Hezbollah leader, Hassan Nasrallah is also in quarantine, however, it is unclear whether it is a preemptive measure or he has been infected with the virus.
“The Hezbollah members were reportedly infected with the highly transmissible contagion after coming into contact with affected Iranian military officials during a meeting in Beirut last week,” the Israeli Media i24 reported.
Over 20 members of Iran’s Parliament have tested positive for COVID-19, with the city of Qom being hardly hit by the virus.
Al Arabiya’s report also noted that Hezbollah has taken emergency measures in areas where the organization operates, including Beirut and southern Lebanon, to track those suspected of being infected with Coronavirus.
